Students need to understand and practice internet safety, they need to know how to protect their privacy and security, how to safely develop online relationships, to recognize and deal with cyberbullying, to manage their ‘digital footprint,’ to behave ethically, be aware of intellectual property rights, and generally have an understanding of the role of ICT in society. All of these items are included in the newly developing category of Digital Citizenship.
